What's New for January 1998

Saturday, January 31, 1998: tonight's the night!
If you're wondering what they're playing, we'll be updating our Monkeywrench Playlist throughout the show. So far, MASSIVE COOLNESS!!!!!

The latest batch of Monkeywrench Radio broadcast stations and cybercasts have been added to the list. Many stations that were not originally carrying it are now and others are delay broadcasting, so keep checking. We'll continue to update until noon PST.

The second part of the Kerrang! interview is now online (linked from the Yield Media Watch page). [Thanks to Stephen Bruce for transcribing and mailing it!]

*whew* =)

Added a whole slew of new articles to the Yield Media Watch page, including The Independent, Tentaciones, and Massive! [Thanks to Deborah Baker, Esther Santos, Oliver Sharwood, Randall Higgins and Jason Janik - even if we didn't use his translation in the end cuz the Der Spiegel article sucked.]

And yet another butt-load of stations to the Monkeywrench Radio page. Note: Radio Fritz is NOT broadcasting after all. Sorry.

On that note, please don't write us with a station unless it's 100% confirmed. "We think so" is not the answer you want to hear from your radio station! :)

The Ten Club Hotlinewas updated today with news of the Maui date; we're working on a transcription right now and it'll be available tomorrow.

In the update, they referred to the 1/31 broadcast as "Monkeywrench Radio", so we've updated the broadcast page accordingly. Also added some new stations.

New Featured Photo Of The Moment; this one's for you, Mikey. =) [Many thanks to Tony Buonvino]

Added some more radio stations to the SPR II page [Thank-you's listed there =)]

Thanks for all your mail about places you can find the single; unfortunately we are so widely spread out and there are so damn many of us that it's impossible for us to print all the places you CAN find the single. It is out, even in Canada, no matter what your record store says; just continue to give 'em hell and it'll get there eventually.

Finally, PLEASE do not send us HTML email since we can't read it without sending it somewhere else and downloading it. Thanks much! =)

Tuesday, January 6, 1998: Given To Fly arrives!
Jeez, even MORE News: early vinyl release for Yield.

Added a scan of the COOL poster for the Maui show to Memorabilia [Thanks to Kevin Rooney]

Added some more radio stations to the SPR II page [Thank-you's listed there =)]

Yep, it's finally here. Please don't write us with the credits, tracklisting, etc. - I meant to go out at 11:30 to get the single, but we're having one of those horrendous Seattle winter nights and I ain't going nowhere. I will go get it at lunchtime and update the discog later tonight.

Already added some radio stations that will be broadcasting SPR II. Bug your station, get confirmation, and then write us!

Sunday, January 4, 1998
Added a reminder about the January 29 radio interview with Eddie and Jeff to the News page.

"What the hell is Self-Pollution Radio?" you may be asking. If you are, and even if you're not, get the scoop on our new SPR II page. Like the Berlin broadcast, we'll be keeping a list of the radio stations who say they are participating, and give you advice on how to bug your local station to make sure they're one of them!

Some Concert Chronology updates:
